What is Squidoo?

Squidoo is an affiliate-marketing and ad-based revenue website with a community of users (called lensmasters) that create the website's content. Lensmasters create multimedia pages (called lenses) about different subjects that interest them and in return earn a portion of Squidoo's affiliate royalties (from websites big companies Amazon.com and eBay) and possibly advertising revenue. Social networking is encouraged not just to earn more money, but many lensmasters visit regularly to participate in the community and read, comment or otherwise participate on other lenses.

Squidoo might be designed to share affiliate revenue with lensmasters, but Squidoo isn't all about money. Many lensmasters donate a percentage or even all of their royalties to one of the many charitable organizations that Squidoo partners with. Though some lensmasters earn a nice monthly income for their hard work at Squidoo, others like me are part-time lensmasters that primarily using Squidoo for the back-links to market another site.

Back in September 2007 I became a lensmaster at Squidoo for the back-links to boost this website's page rank, and I wasn't all that interested in making money through affiliate marketing. Within a few months I discovered Zazzle.com and I started an on-line store using their services. As I began to slowly expanded my list of lenses at Squidoo to include my products at Zazzle.com, I noticed regular and consistent growth in my sales at Zazzle.com. The benefits will be different for each person, but I absolutely attribute a portion of my success at Zazzle to having lenses at Squidoo. The secret is that the people who earn sales at Zazzle … earn sales at Zazzle through their own hard work. Squidoo is one of the tools that is rewarding, and just a little bit fun, where you can meet other people traveling down the same road.

Squidoo is absolutely a great place to advertise your products because it is free and they will pay you to create content on their site.
