Alyk’aa: Lyaskan exclamation meaning, “It is so!”

Alykzhel: Refers to either the zhel that is tuned to soul mates, or a Lyaskan person’s soul mate. See also, Zhel.

Barenghetti: A huge, lumbering creature that looks like a water buffalo with a baboon’s “broadside”. A person with a bad aim couldn’t hit the broadside of barenghetti.

Butterfly: A famous exotic dancer in the Bamboo Lounge, one of the Red Dragon's bars in Rheno.

Creghnot: A tropical, virtually uninhabited planet known for having aquamarine seas and being populated by fierce predators.

Dena Lyksadr: She was forced into ruling Lyask as a child, when she believes her father Nicholai disappeared. Dena has an identical twin, Jilan. (Heroine in Starlit Destiny.)

Flevda: Tiny silver feeder fish on Lyask.

Gloobi: Inedible jellyfish that cling to a fisherman’s net. Gloobi-picking is the bane of every Lyaskan fisherman.

IGZ: The Inter-Galactic Zoo is located on a terra-formed planet designed to mimic ecosystems of planets throughout the Milky Way.

Ivaraa: On Lyask, couples are drawn together by a quest for love that originates with a vision, and normally culminates when they find their alykzhel and the stone splits into two gems.

Ivarune: A ballad, song, or a lullaby on Lyask.

Jilan Lyksadr: Dena's identical twin. Jilan is younger, but forced into leadership with Dena disappears.

Jurate: An Old Earth mermaid goddess from Lithuanian mythology, and Krys and Jaret’s starship.

Kivlaki: A star.

Kivlaki Maeteaki: In Lyaskan mythology, those that come from the stars. Loosely translated into Standard English, the term means “star pirate”.

Kivlaki Menglli: Literally, the edge of the stars. Figuratively, 1) heaven, or 2) the “little death” that comes with sexual release.

Lyask: A planet peopled by lost colonists from Old Earth who developed paranormal abilities. AKA Napol IV. [Lyask is based in part on the Pacific Northwest in general, most particularly Southeast Alaska.]

Lyksandr: “The Lyksandr” is the ruler of Lyask. The clan is the most powerful clan on Lyask. [When I wrote the first draft for Starlit Destiny, I was living along the Alexander Archipelago in Ketchikan, Alaska.]

Lynox: A carnivorous feline native to Lyask.

Maris: A planet that is typically shrouded in lilac-tinged clouds, that float over lavender seas. The people that live on Maris are just as much a mystery, and it is rumored they have paranormal abilities. The planet's name is the feminine form of Mars, from the Solar System, because in early days after colonization the planet was locked in constant warfare.

Mokran: Standard English. A caffeine-filled coffee-like beverage best served hot.

Nav: A simple term for the computer that operates starships.

Nevdha: A lunar satellite of Tahn Ror. See also: Rheno.

Nicholai Lyksadr: Soverign of Lyask. Dena's father.

Orion’s Dominion: A casino in Rheno that is home to ShallaMai Naciq.

Peshti: Pesky but highly intelligent critters native of a tropical planet Creghnot that have hitchhiked across the galaxy. AKA: space rats.

Red Dragon: A casino in Rheno built to highlight the culture of Old Earth's China. Beneath the Red Dragon is where Rheno's security offices are hidden away.

Rheno: The Biggest Little City in the Galaxy. A city beneath a domed-bubble on Nevhda.

Sarza Council: The ruling body of the Tomerian Galactic Federation. Not all star systems within the Milky Way are part of the TGF.

Sarza Command: The military and exploratory arm of the Tomerian Galactic Federation.

Serenadya Lyksadr: Wife of Nicholai, and Dena's mother.

ShallaMai Naciq: Friend to Dena Lysksandr in Starlit Destiny, and owner/manager of the casinos of Rheno.

Shurah: The oceans of Lyask.

Shurah Teshyan: Once the capital of the Ancient Ones on Lyask. When they blew themselves up, the city became submerged.

Shurah-zhel: Zhel that is buoyant and floats to shore after storms break it loose from it’s source.

Tahn Ror: A desert planet far from the center of the civilized galaxy. The first human inhabitants on Tahn Ror were refugees from Maris.

Tahn Rorians: Repulsive, smelly, reptilian hominids. Anyone who says any different disappears, never to be heard from again.

Twin Sisters: Lyask’s twin moons.

Vanrishi: The holdings of the Vanrishi Corporation, or the twelve star systems grouped together under the Corporation and governed by the Council of Twelve.

Vanrishi Corporation: The largest corporation in the Milky Way Galaxy. The Vanrishi hold the patent on the hyperdrive, as well as produce the crystals that make space travel possible.

Vertor: A massive ringed-city that orbits a red and gold gas giant, New Saturn. Vertor is headquarters for the Tomerian Galactic Federation.

Xama: Lyaskan elders whose abilities in extra-sensory perception give them the power to communicate across Lyask, and often accurately predict events.

Yeddi: A formidable-looking scavenger on Zackson X.

Zaatlahn: One of the first terra-formed planets close to the center of the Milky Way. They now wish to cede from the Tomerian Galactic Federation and are involved in civil war.

Zackson X: A frozen planet that isn’t somewhere most people want to live, or even visit; AKA Absolute Zero, it is the perfect place for criminals to congregate.

Zhel: Fossilized sap. Lyaskans have altered the spelling of the Standard English word “jewel”.

Zsaylla: The Awareness that surrounds Lyask. Spoken with all that attitude of Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Zsaynon-zhel: Gargantuan, sentient trees native to Lyask. AKA creepers.

Zookaburra: A gigantic bee native to Lyask.

Zsuravbahrah: A blueberry native to Lyask.
